If you are coming from the South:

Interstate 280 feeds directly onto Highway 1, which is 19th Avenue. On 280 take the left branch, marked Golden Gate Bridge.

On Hwy 1, just before entering Golden Gate Park, turn Right onto Lincoln Way.  When Lincoln starts to bend left, depart from the main traffic flow by staying to the right on to Frederick Street.

A few blocks later at the first light, turn Right on to Stanyan Street. Turn Right on the next block.  It is Carl Street. The house is immediately on the Right.

If you are coming from the East Bay or from the south on Hwy 101:

Take the 101 Freeway extension (G.G. Bridge) to its end at the Octavia Blvd. / Fell Street Exit (434B).  Follow Fell Street out West until you see the Panhandle (an extension of G.G. Park) on the left. 

The main road will bend to the left.  You should be in the far-right lane and proceed until it dead-ends on Stanyan Street.  Turn Left.

If you are coming from Downtown:

Proceed directly out Geary Street, a main one-way artery.   It will turn into a large divided boulevard. 

Turn left on to Stanyan Street. There is a left-turn lane. Look for Mel's Diner (large flag) on the left as a landmark that you are close.

Follow Stanyan past Golden Gate Park, up to Carl Street.  You will notice the Muni Metro streetcar tracks in the road.  Turn Right.  The house is on the right.

An alternate & more colorful route: Take Market Street all the way to the large Castro Street intersection, where Market starts the incline to the left up to Twin Peaks.

Take 17th Street, which goes up between Market and Castro on the Right (between the gas station and the little grass knoll). You need to be in the far-right lane on Market.
